Basenji pair Meg & Bingo
Meg is a beautiful red and white basenji her companion, Bingo is a handsome red and white basenji. Both Basenjis are very sweet, love people, and they love each other (it would be great if they could stay together). Both basenjis are spayed and neutered, and ready to go to their new forever home.
This is a curtesy posting, if you are interested in Meg & Bingo (hopefully both) please contact their Foster Mum, CarolAnn at the email address below CWorsham@ctcn.net for more information.
For more information about the characteristics and personality of the Basenji breed please check out www.basenji.org for more details.
If I don't have what you're looking for, check out Grant County Animal Shelter
If you are looking for a wonderful companion in the Northern Kentucky area, please check out the Grant Country Humane Society located on Barnes Road in Williamstown, Kentucky. They do have to euthanize animals when the shelter is full (and because it's a rural shelter they're full alot of the time). So unfortunatly many poor animals, dogs/cats, kittens and puppies are put to sleep through no fault of their own. They are currently over loaded with puppies of all shapes and sizes.
Informational Background
I'm a Self Taught Behaviorist as well as a Dog Trainer (puppy clases through advanced). All of the animals you see on my site are looking for their forever home. When you adopt a pet from me, you adopt me as a resource for the life of your pet.
How did they Come to be Posted here
Some of the dogs listed here are because their owners didn't do all of their homework before buying a their pet. Due to the owner having health problems they can no longer care or handle their dogs. The Basenjis and Thai Ridgebacks that are listed on this site are here because I'm the rescue coordinator for the Basenji Club of Cincinnati and the Association of Thai Ridgeback Owners & Fanciers. Many are here, just because I felt that I could help them find a better more educated home. Some are just looking for a new leash on life, after being rescued/saved from kill shelters. All animals are fully rehabilitated before they ever come up for adoption.
Who We Are
CCK9s has been rescuing homeless pets since 1983, I started out finding kittens new homes when I was still living at home with my parents. It's a one woman opperation here I started rescuing dogs in the early 1990's. In 1998 I had a rescue hit closer to home than anyone would have expected. Toby was one of my Basenjis that was sold to a pet home; only to find out that the new owners burned him with cigarettes. I rescued and rehabilitated him, and he is the reason I still do rescue today.
Special Thanks
I would like to thank Miamitown Pet Hospital and its staff (513-353-1229) for vetting all of my own dogs as well as my foster dogs. They are Angels in my book. I would also like to extend a big thank you to Elizabeth Akers & Kate Zimmer of Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue in California for saving many Thai Ridgebacks and fostering them until we can find them a home. As well as a Big Thank You to Cesar Millan, "Dog Whisperer" and all of his staff, for giving dogs like Raba a second chance at life. Special thanks to Gayle, (who worked with Cesar) for all of her help too.
Adopting a friend
I personally believe dogs that are rescued become more than a pet to any person, they are forever grateful that you have saved their life and have given them a second chance at happiness. Here at CCK9s I'm always available to help the new adopters through troubled times and if every thing else fails, I do take the dogs that were adopted from me back. After all, I love all of the dogs that have come through my house.
Come Visit Us!
You can generally see me and some of my foster K9s at the local dog park on the west side of Cincinnati. I take them there so that they can learn to interact with other dogs as well as people. It's a great place to meet prospective new owners too. If that's to far, then please email me or phone me at the number below, and we'll schedule a time for you to meet your new family member.
Donations Greatly Appreciated
DO TO MY OWN HEALTH ISSUES AND LACK OF FUNDS/DONATIONS.
I AM NO LONGER ACCEPTING OR TAKING IN ANY ANIMALS. IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A LOVING COMPANION, PLEASE CHECK OUT THE MANY RESCUES BOTH KILL AND NON-KILL FACILITIES. THANKS SO MUCH TO ALL OF THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE ADOPTED ANIMALS FROM ME OVER THE PAST 13, AND A SPECIAL THANKS TO MIAMITOWN PET HOSPITAL WHO HAS VACCINATED/SPAYED/NEUTERED AND MICROCHIPPED ALL OF THE ANIMALS IN THE PAST.
Helpful Hints!
I'm currently full, and can not take in any more dogs, please check with other non-kill rescues/shelters. Thanks.
IF YOU LIVE IN AN APARTMENT, PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR LAND LORD BEFORE EVEN CONSIDERING ADOPTION OF ANY DOG.

Those Who Have Crossed Over the Rainbow Bridge
Hope was a six month old, yellow, Thai Ridgeback puppy. She was found at a Home Depot in Rosenberg, Texas hiding in fear under a car. The shelter local shelter had her for two weeks, praying that her owners would come and save her. Unfortunately for Hope her luck had ran out; we got our information too late about this little girl, and she was put to sleep on July 19, 2005. Hope is now in a loving place for she has passed over the Rainbow Bridge.
